Intelsat General Corp. has been awarded Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition (FCSA) contracts in two new schedule areas: Transponded Services and Subscription Services.
Intelsat General is among the first commercial satellite operators to be granted this eligibility under the new contract vehicle jointly managed by the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The award will permit the Department of Defense to directly acquire transponder capacity and subscription services from Intelsat General during the initial five-year term.
This award will allow Intelsat General to deliver the highest quality and most cost-effective satellite communications to our government and commercial customers in support of the Pentagon’s new mandate to reduce defense spending. Having direct access to the world’s most extensive space and ground network will provide our customers with a range of turn-key satellite communications at a price that reflects the efficiency of a thriving commercial market.
The FCSA program includes two new Schedule Items Numbers (SINs) under the GSA IT Schedule 70 Multiple Awards Schedule. Intelsat General has been awarded Schedule 70 contracts in each of the two new SINs:
- Transponded Capacity (SIN 132-54) – Dedicated satellite bandwidth and power in any commercially available frequency band.
- Subscription Services (SIN 132-55) – Preexisting, pre-engineered Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) or Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) solutions in any frequency band.
