Tachyon Networks today announced the launch of its aXiom 7000 Series of end-to-end Communications-on-the-Move (COTM) solutions for air, land and sea. Encompassing all hardware, application integration, engineering services, active network management and monitoring for both secure and non-secure, public and private networks, the aXiom 7000 Series meets the beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) needs of today’s forward-deployed warfighter.
Tachyon Networks is proud to announce the aXiom 7000 Series,” said Peter Carides, CEO of Tachyon Networks. “aXiom brings to market a truly game changing line of products and services, integrating best in breed technologies from a variety of industry leaders, resulting in COTM solutions that are unmatched in their ability to deliver full-motion video across air, land and sea simultaneously.
The aXiom 7000 Series solutions use common ground infrastructure and can easily integrate with hundreds of existing air, land and maritime satellite hubs, worldwide. In addition, each aXiom system has been designed for deployment on specific commercial aircraft and other airborne platforms including military C-12, C-17, C-130 aircraft and UAV’s, as well as maritime and land-mobile platforms. This enables seamless information interchange among networks providing for an all-encompassing approach to advanced Intelligence, Reconnaissance and Surveillance (ISR) missions. The aXiom 7000 series operates with beams from both stationary and inclined orbit spacecraft, maximizing available bandwidth for C4ISR missions.
“We are pleased that the aXiom 7000 Series will use space segment from Intelsat for COTM applications,” said Kay Sears, President, Intelsat General Corporation. “We look forward to expanding our partnership with Tachyon, deploying aXiom on a variety of platforms using our global fleet of satellites.”
In April, Tachyon announced the aXiom 9300 Airborne Terminal (formerly the ATR-9300), which streams full motion video, with sustained return (upload) data rates of 2Mbps, in flight. Responding to market requirements for a fully-managed end-to-end solution, Tachyon integrated the aXiom 9300 with an embedded iDirect Evolution iConnex e850mp Series Satellite Router Board, a Rantec Microwave Systems Ku-band 18” Mobile Satellite Antenna Subsystem (MSAS), a General Electric GE9181 Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) and space segment. The outcome For Release Tachyon Networks Page 2 of 2 Oct. 28, 2010 of this effort is the aXiom 7000 Series of Integrated Mobile Network solutions, which is available to customers today.
“Tachyon has moved into the forefront of Airborne Networking solutions with its very impressive aXiom 7000 Series,” said Karl Fuchs, Vice President of Technology at iDirect Government Technologies (IGT). “We are extremely pleased Tachyon chose to implement our e850mp satellite router board as part of aXiom because it has become the platform of choice in many COTM applications in the air, on land and at sea.”
“We are delighted to be a part of the launch of the aXiom 7000 Series,” said Rantec CEO, Graham Wilson. “Rantec is eager to work with Tachyon in deploying our MSAS units as part of aXiom in multiple COTM applications.”
The aXiom 7000 will be on display at Milcom 2010 in San Jose October 31 – November 3 at the San Jose Convention Center booth #1635.
