A point of presence (PoP) is an artificial demarcation point or interface point between communications entities. An internet PoP is an access point to the internet -- it is a physical location that houses servers, routers, ATM switches and digital/analog call aggregators.

Intelsat General has four points of presence served by five teleport centers:

• Digital Ground Network via Fiber with Tier 1 connectivity served by the NAPA, Atlanta & Riverside Teleports
  • New York City PoP
  • DC PoP
• Trans-European Network via Fiber with Tier 1 connectivity served by the Fuchsstadt Teleport
  • London PoP
  • Frankfurt PoP
