There is an arms race going on in space, and secure satellite communications have never been more important for our national security.
The video below outlines how Intelsat General is continuously working to mitigate satellite interference, and explains how attempts to jam satellite signals can be dealt with through techniques such as changing frequency, increasing signal power and signal cancellation.
In 2016 the new Intelsat EpicNG HTS platform will provide even more protection for satellite communications. These new high-throughput satellites have inherent anti-jam capabilities and will support Protected Tactical Waveforms (PTW) in multiple frequency bands – C-, Ku-, Ka- and X-band. They will deliver broader protection, more resiliency, more throughput and more efficient utilization of satellite bandwidth.
