Intelsat General Wins ISCe's 2007 Industry Leadership Award
For leadership in the vital government and military sector of the industry, ISCe presented its 2007 Industry Leadership award to Intelsat General Corporation (IGC) during the June 6th awards dinner in San Diego.
The award was presented by Robert Bell with the World Teleport Association in conjunction with David Cavossa of the Satellite Industry Association. Citing examples such as IGC's 10-year contract to provide service to Germany's Armed Forces, becoming one of two prime satellite operators on the General Service Administration's SATCOM-II program, and being selected by the US Defense Department to test Internet routing in space, Mr Bell stated Intelsat General has become “the dominant force in providing satellite services to the US Federal, state and local government, NATO members, an the contractors and integrators who support them – an amazing feat for a company that was born in 2004.”
William Shernit, President and CEO of Intelsat General accepted the award.
